2019 Annual Awards Dinner Auctions
The 2019 Annual Awards Dinner is almost sold out, but it’s still not too late to sign up. We do hope you will join us in honoring Captain Jean Wort, Ding Schoonmaker, Pam Rorke Levy and Matt Brooks. Even if you are not able to attend, you can still support the National Maritime Historical Society by participating in this year’s Live and Silent Auctions. Let us do the bidding for you! Call 914-737-7878 ext. 0 to be set up with your own personal bidding representative. Hurry—telephone bids will be accepted until Tuesday 22 October at 12:00 noon EST.
This year’s Live Auction features four spectacular items followed by our Educational Auction supporting the NMHS Maritime Library & Collections. First up, donated by Honorary Dinner Chairman George W. Carmany III with a reserve of $700, is a spectacular bottle of 1982 Chateau Pichon Longueville Lalande, hailed as one of the five greatest Bordeaux wine vintages in the last 100 years. Second is the wildly popular private charter for 40 guests with open bar aboard the stunning yacht Manhattan, generously donated by Classic Harbor Line and Scarano Boat Building with a starting bid of $3,000. Third up in the Live Auction and with a starting bid of $4,000 is a 7-night Mississippi River cruise donated by American Cruise Lines and Charles Robertson. Last, but certainly not least, is the private sail of a lifetime for six aboard the 69′ 1928 classic 12-meter sailing yacht Onawa, donated by Vice Commodore Christopher J. Culver & Deirdre Culver with a reserve of $1,000.
We owe tremendous gratitude to the donors of our Live Auction items, and to the many NMHS trustees and friends who so generously have provided stunning marine art, popular and significant books, cruises, tours, vacation packages, collectibles and more for our Silent Auction. See the auction catalog for detailed descriptions of all the auction items, including:
