Windjammer Days marks the kick off to summer in the Boothbay region. It is a time to honor our maritime history and celebrate the vital role it plays in the lives of all who live here. Started in 1962, Windjammer Days has grown to a week long festival and is the cornerstone of summer traditions in the Boothbay Harbor region.  The festival has something for everyone. From a golf tournament to a road race, a tug of war across the harbor to pirate duels and fireworks. There’s food events and music, tours of the U.S. Coast Guard Station, haunted history tours, a lobster eating contest, codfish relay and so much more. Like parades? Spend the week and you can catch an antique boat parade, blessing of the fleet, a street parade, the grand gathering of the windjammer fleet, and a lighted boat parade. Best of all, many of the events are free! Something that is not an easy find these days.
