Historic vessels—craft that sailed in another era and survived to give us a glimpse of their history today—are a vital part of our maritime heritage. We tell their stories in the pages of Sea History.
NMHS continues its tradition of rallying support for historic vessels in need of assistance. In Historic Ships on a Lee Shore, for example, we spotlight vessels in need of preservation, restoration, or a new home.
Following are some of the many vessels in our historic fleet—some that are in excellent condition today, some that are being restored, and some that are still struggling for sufficient funding, or the ideal venue. To read about these ships and others, go to Sea History magazine or search the extensive Index.
