The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, located at Pier 86 on the Hudson River in Manhattan, offers a variety of unique exhibits exploring the past and future of sea, air and space exploration and technology. The centerpiece of the museum is the aircraft carrier Intrepid, a 900-foot vessel retired from naval service.
Visitors can explore Intrepid’s various decks and view more than 30 aircraft on the massive flight deck. The cavernous hangar deck holds a variety of interactive exhibits including multiple flight simulators. Also featured are the space shuttle Enterprise, NASA’s original orbiter, a British Airways Concorde aircraft, and the submarine Growler, the only American guided missile submarine open to the public.
