The IYRS Maritime Library is focused on books, objects, photographs, film etc. relating to the history of boat building in Rhode Island and New England. It’s collections include over 1,000 blueprint sail plans from the City Island sail makers Ratsey and Lapthorn; America’s Cup photographs, ephemera, film and more; and an extensive library of books and documents relating to all aspects of boat building. IYRS School of Technology and Trades is the premier boat building school in the country – teaching traditional wood boat building as well as modern composites techniques, marine systems and digital modeling and fabrication.
