The National Maritime Historical Society is gathering information on how recent federal and state actions—such as grant cancellations, program restrictions, or content directives—are affecting maritime history programs.

We invite you to share your experience using the form below. Your input—whether shared anonymously or with permission—will help us document the scope of these impacts and better understand the challenges facing the field. By contributing to this effort, you strengthen our ability to respond thoughtfully and advocate for maritime history at the national level.

All responses are confidential unless you authorize us to share specific details. You may submit anonymously, and any contact information you provide will only be used for follow-up, if needed. Any responses that we are given permission to share will be listed here, in an effort to educate the public about the impact of these cuts and other actions on our maritime heritage community. We may also share these items in NMHS newsletters. All items should be considered as reported to NMHS without further vetting, unless otherwise indicated.
