Charting the Course Ahead: Maritime Heritage Today and Tomorrow
A Seminar with NMHS President Cathy Green and Sea History Editor, Deirdre O’Regan
Join us as our new president, Cathy Green, and Sea History editor, Deirdre O’Regan, explore the pressing questions facing the maritime heritage community. What challenges do we all face in preserving its rich history, and what opportunities exist to ensure these stories continue to inspire future generations? How will NMHS, as a leading organization in this field, continue to play a key role in shaping the future of maritime heritage?
For over 60 years, NMHS has fostered connections and collaboration across the maritime community, supporting maritime museums, advocating for the preservation of historic vessels, sharing the stories of seafarers past and present, and educating young and old about the history of, and human interaction with, the sea. Now, with new leadership, NMHS is excited to continue and even expand this important work.
This seminar is more than a presentation—it’s a conversation. You’ll have the chance to engage directly by submitting your questions for Cathy and Deirdre. What do you see as the biggest challenges facing the field? How do you think NMHS can most effectively continue championing maritime heritage? As members and supporters who care deeply about the maritime world, we value your input.
