Layton. Drawing on decades of experience in maritime preservation, including his tenure directing NOAA’s Maritime Heritage Program, Dr. Delgado examines the evolution of the field in California, shaped by both amateur wreck divers and professional archaeologists. A recent review in Sea History magazine called the book “an essential contribution to the literature of maritime archaeology, inspiring readers to appreciate the stories hidden beneath the waves and the dedication required to uncover them.”
