Join us for the last NMHS Seminar Series event of the year at the Cortlandt Yacht Club. Back by popular demand, Scott Craven returns after his first series on Lighthouses of the Hudson to present the fascinating stories of the nine lighthouses from West Point north to Stuyvesant: West Point Light; Danskammer Point Light; Esopus Meadows Light; Rondout Creek Lighthouse; Saugerties Lighthouse; Four Mile Point Lighthouse; Coxsackie Light; Hudson-Athens Lighthouse and Stuyvesant Light.
Scott will discuss the history of each and how they have protected the river and kept commercial traffic flowing smoothly and recreational boaters safe. Scott Craven speaks extensively about a variety of Hudson River topics and teaches local history to teachers at the Ossining Teachers Center. He has an M.S. in History and has lived along the banks of the Hudson River his entire life.
The Public is invited. Join us for our Holiday Pot Luck Party after the presentation. Please bring a dish, drink or dessert that serves six to eight people. Please register here or contact NMHS at 914-737-7878, ext. 0 if you plan to attend. A $5-$10 donation is appreciated.
