LIVE AUCTION ITEMS

1. Renowned marine artist John Stobart has generously donated a spectacular oil painting to honor his friend, the late Peter Stanford.

‘Aucoot Cove: The View to Converse Point’

Stobart Aucoot Cove The View to Converse Point FRAMEDIn the picturesque area of Massachusetts known as South Coast lies Aucoot Cove, a body of water shared with the towns of Mattapoisett on the west and Marion on the east.

This setting provides fascinating subject matter in an undeveloped rural paradise.

On a mostly sunny day, dotted with few clouds, one can see clearly from Mattapoisett across the cove to Converse Point. The foreground offers a peek into the lives of casual boaters enjoying the day perhaps fishing for dinner.
